UAE salary rules this calculator follows
No personal income tax
The UAE does not tax employment income. Corporate tax under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 applies to businesses, not to salaries.
GPSSA pension (nationals)
Insured from 31 Oct 2023 (Law 57/2023): 11% from the employee and 15% from the employer. In the private sector the government pays 2.5% of the employer share when the salary is under AED 20,000. Insured before that date (Law 7/1999): 5% from the employee, 12.5% from the employer and 2.5% from the government. Expatriates do not pay into GPSSA.
ILOE insurance
Federal Decree-Law No. 13 of 2022: AED 5 a month if basic salary is AED 16,000 or less, and AED 10 a month if it is higher, plus 5% VAT.
Overtime
Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021: overtime pays the hourly basic wage plus 25%. Hours between 10pm and 4am, and work on a rest day, pay plus 50%.
End-of-service gratuity
21 days of basic salary for each of the first 5 years and 30 days for each year after, capped at 2 years’ salary. In the DIFC, DEWS replaces gratuity at 5.83% or 8.33% of basic salary.
Wage protection (WPS)
Mainland salaries must be paid through WPS. Deductions from wages generally cannot exceed 50% of the wage.
Disclaimer: This calculator gives estimates based on UAE rules in force in 2026. Pension rates for ADPF and GCC schemes depend on the relevant authority, so check them before use. Your employment contract and company policy may change the result. This is not legal or tax advice.
