FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between federal and provincial sales tax?
Sales tax on goods is collected by FBR under the Sales Tax Act, 1990. Sales tax on services is collected by the provinces (SRB, PRA, KPRA, BRA) and, for Islamabad, under federal law administered by FBR. Many businesses need to register with more than one authority.
Do I need to register for sales tax?
It depends on what you sell, your turnover and your business type. Manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, certain retailers and providers of taxable services generally must register. We review your business and confirm your obligations.
What happens if I file late?
Late filing or late payment can lead to penalties and default surcharge, and repeated defaults can lead to blacklisting or suspension of registration. We can file overdue returns and help reduce the impact.
Can I file a nil return?
Yes. Registered persons usually still have to file a return for a month with no sales. We file nil returns as part of every package.
Why is some of my input tax not being allowed?
Input tax is generally allowed only when your supplier has declared the sale in their own return and other conditions are met. Our reconciliation identifies mismatches early so you can follow up with suppliers.
Is my data kept confidential?
Yes. Your invoices, records and portal access are handled securely and kept strictly confidential.
